# LuckBlocks - Decentralized Raffles

Introducing **Luckblocks** - an innovative and one-of-a-kind raffle lottery built on the Polygon blockchain. To ensure true randomness, we use **Chainlink** VRF v2.5 to generate the results, which can be verified by anyone. Each lottery pays its randomness requests in <mark style="color:purple;">**POL**</mark> and refills its own reserve from its 1% platform fee, so the draws need no external funding. A draw's VRF request costs about $0.11 on Polygon, so roughly 10.5 USDT of daily sales cover it, which is why tickets can be this cheap. The winner number is based on ticket position, and the winner ticket ID is selected by checking the raffle list, which contains information about the ticket owner.

When you buy a ticket for the daily lottery, you automatically get another entry into the weekly lottery for free. If the minimum number of participants or pot value is not reached within the day or week cycle, the prize accumulates and tickets are carried over for the next cycle.

Every draw runs on-chain by the **NFTnodes (Cranni Societas)** - a community of peers and nodes that take turns in an on-chain queue. To participate, owners stake their **NFTs** in our smart contract and run the executions from the dashboard or with their preferred automation. Executors of the lottery draw will be paid 2% of the daily jackpot with **NFTnodes Common**, and 9.50% of the weekly lotteries jackpot with **NFTnodes&#x20;**<mark style="color:yellow;">**Golden**</mark>.

The beauty of **Luckblocks** is that it is self-sustainable and does not require centralized support. By using smart contracts, **Luckblocks** can run indefinitely without any developer maintenance. The Dapp is open-source and available under the **GNU** license. We also have an **IPFS** version for censorship resistance and decentralization of the frontend.

## How it works

At **Luckblocks**, buying a ticket not only gives you a chance to win big on the daily lottery but also increases your chances of winning by signin you to the weekly lottery. Here's how it works:

Each ticket you buy distributes the funds in the following way:

* 47.5% goes to the daily lottery
* 47.5% goes to the weekly lottery
* 4% goes to the <mark style="background-color:purple;">**CRA**</mark><mark style="color:red;background-color:purple;">**N**</mark><mark style="color:green;background-color:purple;">**N**</mark><mark style="background-color:purple;">**I**</mark>**-**<mark style="color:purple;">**POL**</mark>**&#x20;LP** Stakers Pool (3% when the player has a referrer: the other 1% is paid to the referrer, see [Referrals](/luckblocks/referrals.md))
* 1% goes to the platform

We offer four choices in lotteries/raffles with varying difficulty levels. Each lottery has its own ticket price (governance can change it with `setTicketValue`, never below $0.10) and you can buy up to 50 tickets per purchase:

1. <mark style="color:orange;">**BTC**</mark>: $0.10 per ticket, $25 minimum pot value to draw (the 20 USD of BTC that the contract adds to every draw plus 5 USD of tickets), and 20 contract tickets.
2. <mark style="color:blue;">**ETH**</mark>: $0.20 per ticket, $55 minimum pot value to draw (50 USD of ETH added by the contract plus 5 USD of tickets), and 10 contract tickets.
3. <mark style="color:purple;">**POL**</mark>: $0.30 per ticket, $55 minimum pot value to draw (50 USD of POL added by the contract plus 5 USD of tickets), and 5 contract tickets.
4. <mark style="background-color:purple;">**CRA**</mark><mark style="color:red;background-color:purple;">**N**</mark><mark style="color:green;background-color:purple;">**N**</mark><mark style="background-color:purple;">**I**</mark>**:** $0.40 per ticket, $155 minimum pot value to draw (the 150 USD of CRANNI that the contract adds to every draw plus 5 USD of tickets), and 2 contract tickets.

The weekly lotteries need a $20 minimum pot and sell no tickets of their own: every daily ticket is also a weekly ticket.

If the **Luckblocks** contract wins the raffle, the jackpot accumulates and is distributed internally in the following way:

* 20% goes to the storage for the next draws minimum prize fill
* 60% goes towards the next draw prize jackpot
* 20% goes to the weekly lottery prize jackpot.

Before the draw time tickets can be cancelled/refunded to get back **75%** of ticket value.

## :skull: NFTnodes - Utility NFTs

**NFTnodes**, also known as **Cranni Societas**, is a community of peers/nodes that plays a crucial role in the operation of **Luckblocks**. As the holders of the NFT Collection, they are responsible for running each and every draw on-chain. In order to provide this service, **Cranni Societas** holders stake their NFTs in our smart contract and run the executions from the NFTnodes dashboard or with their preferred automation, such as VPS servers or **Gelato**, taking turns in the queue of each platform. Besides the lotteries, the nodes also run the [Bull vs Bear](/luckblocks/games/bull-vs-bear.md) and [BullsEye](/luckblocks/games/bullseye.md) rounds, the ciBOLD rebalance, the liquidations of [Cynths](/luckblocks/cranni-token/synthetic-tokens-overview.md) positions, and vote in the [governance](/luckblocks/cranni-societas-nftnodes/governance.md).

By participating in this service, the executor node for that draw will receive a **2%** reward of jackpot if drawing the daily lotteries with **NFTnodes Common**, and a 9.50% reward of the weekly lottery jackpot if drawing the weekly lotteries with **NFTnodes** <mark style="color:yellow;">**Golden**</mark>, additionally NFTnode <mark style="color:yellow;">**Golden**</mark> will receive 2% of every <mark style="color:green;">**Bull**</mark> Vs <mark style="color:red;">**Bear**</mark> Round it executes. This incentive model not only encourages participation from the community but also ensures the smooth operation of the platform without the need for developer maintenance or centralized support.
